Essence.

Alex could not move at all. The pressure of the room kept him forced to the surface. He looked straight upwards, into a large TV screen. BJ appeared on it. He introduced the Halfquake show. It seemed to be a scene from the first halfquake. A victim stood on a small ledge in the middle of them room. Alex made an attempt to close his eyes when he saw the hammer above the victim, but found himself unable to. The hammer fell. When it rose, the platform was covered in the victim's remains. "I have just heard we have three more victims." Alex watched as three more died, then the TV began spinning. Alex passed out.

Once he opened his eyes the room came into focus. A giant hand was in front of him. It was showing signs of being under pressure from the other side. Alex turned and ran, through some boxes, over a pit and round a large crate. A slave shot him from behind it, he fell. The hand was released. Alex watched as the slave was hit, blood sprayed over the hand, as it approached Alex. It stopped inches from his face. Alex, shaking, crawled into the exit.

Once he had recovered from the shock, he noticed he was standing on a thin platform with large crushing devices rotating around it. He dodged them and entered the teleport. Another load of crushers, this time with what looked like lava between the ledges. The moment the crushers rose, he ran. He heard them smashing down behind him. He managed to dive past the last one. 'Too close' the voice said. He nearly slipped on another diary page.

"3rd day.

'Is there an exit?' I'm writing with my bloody on the walls. I can't stop the bleeding on my left hand, where I lost my little finger. The pain was such an unbelievable amount, that I just sighed and shot the machine which caused this injury.

Then I got unconcious for a very long time as I later found out by looking at my watch.

What is this place? And why am I here? I can't remember anything wrong I might have done in the past.

I must but can't stay optimistic. Though the possibility of an exit keeps me spiritually alive."

Alex could not see any traces of blood on the walls, but the page was splattered with it. He added the page to his pocket and went through an air vent into the next room, fell, and felt his leg break. He managed to crawl to the 'life' cell and regenerated, before entering the exit.
