For the second time, Alex found himself inside a small box. He waited for it to break up around hi. It left him in a tall room. He walked over to an alcove, and noticed a switch in it. He hit the switch and walked back into the main room. There were three more alcoves around the sides of the room, and what looked like elevators in the corners, they were not moving. Alex went into each alcove, hitting a switch in each, and grabbing a crossbow and some ammunition from one. The elevators began moving upwards. Alex waited for them to move back to the ground and got on one as it rose. Once it stopped, he stepped onto the spinning platform and was taken round the room. After a moment, he got used to this spinning and stepped onto a platform leading to an alcove. There was a slave in it. He shot it with a direct crossbow hit, and hit the switch.

After hitting the four switches on this level, he moved up to the next level of the room, suddenly noticing the large hand blocking the elevator from moving any further. The pillars turned green and began rotating the central platforms faster. The glass broke.

Alex quickly jumped onto the platform and then into the first alcove. He scored a hit in the eye from the bolt of his crossbow into the slave as it turned to face him. He hit the first switch.

Eventually Alex found himself on the top platform. The exit teleport stood right in front of him. He walked up to it, and got a hit in the chest from somewhere inside. After a moment, the guilty slave came running out at him. Alex punched it in the head, then moved back and shot it.

"Pressing button number one will kill you, and pressing button number two, will hurt you. It's your choice." The voice ended. Alex pressed the button labeled two, and it exploded, taking out the floor from below him. Another floor panel broke and Alex fell into the room below.

All four walls were covered in buttons. Hundreds of them. The room seemed to have a low gravity effect. Alex watched as timer lines began creeping up the corners of the room. "There are two Hurting buttons. Find them or die." Alex realized that he had just two minutes to find both of the buttons and get out. He ran at the nearest wall and jumped, hitting as many buttons as he could. He heard an explosion and a cry of pain as he pressed one of them, and went to the opposite wall to try to find the other. Time was running out.

Alex heard the cry of pain again, and saw the central floor panel break. He dived into it and heard the room above explode. The fire rapidly came down the tunnel at him. He entered the teleport as the fire engulfed the tunnel.

He was now in another life/death room. He entered the life cell and regenerated. He entered the exit and saw a switch. 'Odd, never was a switch before...' the voice in his head spoke. He pressed it and nothing happened. He walked out of the cell and the room began spinning.

Alex was thrown around from floor to ceiling before he noticed the missing panel in the room. He made his way to it and scrambled through. He fell through space, and landed in a dark room. Another diary entry lay on the ground in front of him.

"Fourth day.

I forgot to write down how I survived my hunger and my thirst. I was too tired and too confused about this world I just couldn't form clean thoughts. But after all I finally found sleep beneath a corpse of one of those lightning beasts. I don't know for how long and now I'm totally confused about time and date, but I can think again. And maybe it's neither the fourth nor the fifth, but the sixth day.

And maybe I should stop counting days and start counting my entries.

I ate rats. I shot five of them with my crossbow (Thank God, or whoever reigns over this place, that ammunition is given enough.) put them on an arrow in my bag, which I made of the half of my jacket (I needed the other half for my lost little finger. I searched for a lightning beast, and when I finally found one it - of course - shot at me. The pain was indescribable. Though I held the arrow with the rats on it into the lightning. I shot the creature in the head with another arrow and used its corpse as a tent.

The rats looked as black as coal, but I was hungry like twenty bears. I ate them quickly and tried not to think about the animals between my teeth. I was still thirsty and remembered drops falling from nowhere to nothing.

Dragging my dead tent behind me, I searched for the water. After a few minutes surrounded by strange white paintings and frightening darkness, I found the well. I drunk and drunk 'till I thought my stomach would explode.

I crouched beneath the corpse of the lightning creature and fell asleep, clinged to my crossbow, my only friend in this abstract world, ironically given to me by my fiends...

It is unnecessary to write that I miss my family, my friends...

My three years old son Patrick, my beautiful wife Jane, and my friends, who invite me every Saturday evening to join their football parties. I think and even dream of them.

I also miss my job. I want to draw again. I swear, If I ever escape this nightmare some day I'll be the greatest architect on planet Earth.

Then I'll spend all the time and money it needs to find the bastards who are responsible for this bullshit."

Alex looked at the small trench around the central floor, before jumping down. It was another low gravity area. He saw a switch and hit it. He sensed the room light up around him. He jumped back up and saw the message "All your base are belong to us" written above a switch on the wall. He jumped up and activated it.
