Sapience

By now Alex was getting tired of the Sadistic plains. His skin had healed from the effects of the slaves, but one of his goals was failed. Instead of rescuing Tom, he had been forced to kill him instead. He only had one thing driving him forwards through Halfquake; the possibility of an exit. He remembered the words of the ghost earlier. "There is no real exit" and hoped that he was wrong. However, the plains around him seemed to disagree with his idea of an exit. Headstones scattered the area. Three lay in front of him. He studied them closer. There were no names or dates, just R.I.P. on them. He pulled the Sword of Sadism out of his belt and crept round the corner. A village surrounded by walls shattered the green landscape. Alex approached the two people guarding it.

"Nope. There is no entry, yet. Catch me a rat, and bring a flower for my friend here." He looked seriously at Alex. "You know, this is a full time job, without any breaks. So, We are hungry, like people on a full time job without any breaks." He indicated for Alex to leave.

Alex searched round the field, and came across a small rodent on the grass. He leapt at it and grabbed it, twisting its head to kill it. A bright-coloured object in the distance caught his attention. He walked up to it and cut down the large plant that was growing in one corner. Taking them back to the village, he noticed that there weren't any graves on this side of the village.

"Thank you very much victim. We welcome you to the sadistic village." The guard pressed a small button on the wall with his thumb and the gates opened. Alex walked in. He could not understand why he did not stop, but he walked straight forwards into the pond in the center of the village. He was teleported into a small building. One of the villagers stood in the corner. "What the hell are you doing here? Well, now you must defeat the dragons." A teleport opened behind him. Alex held his sword ready and entered.

Alex had expected a large and deadly creature in the cave he had entered. Instead he could see several small creatures, about the size of a large rat. He almost laughed as he approached. Then he noticed the strength of these 'dragons'. One leapt at his face, hit him and fell back, chewing at the flesh it had pulled off Alex's shoulder. Alex brought the sword down, smashing it. Another leapt at him, he quickly swung the sword at it. Seven dragons attacked him, he drove forward through them, finally dicing the last one. An exit opened. "Well done victim, you may go." The building exit opened. One building sorted. Alex approached the next.

As Alex entered the building on his right, he heard a loud noise. It sounded like someone singing christmas songs, but sped up to high speed, so it sounded quite irritating, but then, that was the point of this place. The NPC who stood in the corner noticed him and began to speak. "help. This tree is haunted by some ghost, and all the time he just sings and sings. There is only one way to get rid of it. Put on this christmas outfit" He indicated what looked like an old Santa Clause suit. "and climb down through the chimney. Hurry, before we all go crazy." Alex picked up the suit and walked out.

He looked up at the chimney on the top of the building, wondering how he would get up. He scouted round the village until he found a few crates. He discovered that by arranging them accordingly, he could use them as a staircase up to the roof. He jumped in through the chimney, and saw the tree explod inside. The NPC spoke again. "Thank you victim. I will see you, in hell."

As he walked out, he remembered seeing something he wanted to investigate further. Walking round to it, he realised it provided the power that was blocking his way into one if the buildings. He drew his sword and smashed it. He then approached the next building. It was locked by a large stone door. Another NPC stood near it by a table. Alex rang the bell on the table and the NPC turned around. "Ah, another little victim, aren't you? Yes, Inside is a valuable painting, but my son hid the key, and it was left on top of his grave outside the village. I would go out myself, but I am too old to really leave the safety of this village." Alex walked out of the village. He turned right and followed the walls of the village round. After a minute of walking, he discovered a grave with a key lying on top of it. As he picked up the key, he studied the gravestone. As usual, no name. Apparently, they no longer mattered here. People were referred to as Victim. Alex walked back into the village and back to the NPC at the table. "Oh, You found the key! Open the door for me wont you? I'm too old." Alex opened the door and walked in. He looked at the painting, then, in a fit of rage, cut jagged slices out of it with his sword, completely destroying it. Although it released some of his anger, there was still much more. He almost threw himself out of the door.

There was only one more building in the village, Alex walked into it. A large spraypaint can was forced into his hands. An NPC walked to the wall on the left. "You, paint the walls like this." He sprayed the wall green and walked back to the pedestal in the center of the room. Alex sprayed each of the walls green then approached the pedestal. "I don't like this colour, make it white." Alex sprayed the walls with the can, which was for some reason white now. "I am still not entirely satisfied, this wall looks like your face, but you may go." Alex stormed out.

The NPCs were speaking outside in the village, Alex could hear them. "What a kind guy." "

"What a human being"

"What a santa clause"

"What an Idiot. Go outside the village and to the next area." Alex walked out of the village and immediatly stabbed one of the guards. The other guard began to raise his gun, but Alex had already stolen the gun from the dead guard. One shot to the head and the guard fell. He approached the teleport. A guard standing near it said "Come in if you dare, know how much I care." The door opened as the guard fell to the ground with several bullets to his chest.
