What does the stranger want to hear when he asks "Are you OK?"
What made him say it?
I think that though we have never met before, we had already memorized what was our part, and when we spoke, we uttered the other person's line.
He looks at me and says my line: "I ' m not OK."
I look up, replying with words that should have come from him: "I can ' t help you."
Finishing our play of reversal and impotence, stranger exit stage left. curtain falls, my play continues. |

What? its not! Damn! If somebody whos strange to me would ever come to me, and Im talking of real life here, and ask me how I was, I would be thankful more than anything. I surely wouldnt tell him the real deal, but I wouldnt let that chance of having a conversation without any preknowledge slip away. Sadly its never going to happen because no one gives a fuck and Im not too confident to walk around and talk to people I dont know. "I cant help you"....how can you know you cant? And more important would be: Would you want to? I guess not...which brings me to the conclusion that this is somewhat fair...or not? |
