Someone said, "A satellite just went down, into the sea." I think it 's too dangerous, and I think I ' ll let it sink. And in that distant future time, when everything is accelerated, it will take months for nautical adventurers to find it. They scour the floor, in that hazy future I see, looking for something new, something different than the last time they blazed through in their cadillac submarines, to claim it in the spirit of adventure, before they go home to sleep at 11. In months, they found it, and on it in weeks they find no trace of me, the daring archeologists who placed with decision the machine, bearded like Poseidon, onto the examination board. In days, the machine they rented, the machine the local college owns, will tell them everything. There is no trace of me. In seconds no word is passed to my front door, no whisper of exclamation, no digital carrier signal of good news reaches for me.
With thousands of proper intentions, the satellite speeds back up into space. I did not drown trying to find it, I did not move an inch from my space. Now, the satellite is an eighth of the world desynced with where it was supposed to be. Now, months from then, I will put on my wet suit and look for purpose for my life.
