You're gonna hafta follow pretty closely with this one, I'm gonna bounce around quite a bit.
You can fight everything with the bible. Seriously. You ever looked in that thing? It's got verses against everything humanly possible! That crossed with dumbass humans equals millions of verses that you can interpret into whatever the hell you want it to!
I've heard racists quote the verse about how "all evil men are stained black." I've heard horny guys quote the verse about how women should be subservient to their husbands. Gay bashers go on about Soddom and Grimmorah (Or however the fuck you spell it) and how God hates gays, but then talk about how you should love your fellow man. What if gays are just taking that very literally?
Ask a religious person how they know they're right? "They just know." Bullshit. I've heard people from every religion say that. It's always "I feel it," "God speaks to me" or some shit. I feel like I gotta take a crap. Be right back.
Aaaahhhh, now that was a religious experience. Ask a Christian what their entire life is based on. Most will say God, Jesus, or something. They're wrong. It's a book. One single book and that's it. There's no other proof. Ask for proof and I guarantee you'll get a stupid, question-avoiding answer that's meant to be deep. Maybe something like "Look around you, it's all a miracle!" or "The miracle of life!"
Look up miracle, what does it mean? Wonder. Phenomenon. You ever seen a birth? I call that gross. Does it happen every day? Hell yeah! So is it a phenomenon? Fuck no! Can we explain most of it with science? Yup!
Well, either talk about the whole world being a big fucking miracle or try and prove the bible is real by quoting from the bible. Oh good call. It says it's real, so it must be true! There is no other proof whatsoever. None. Nada. Zero.
Since I've mentioned mistakes, why would God create man? To worship him? How egotistical is God then that he needs billions of people telling him how great he is? Aren't we all just glorified yes-men telling the boss whatever he wants to hear so we can get that brand new Porsche? Maybe God has self-esteem issues. Maybe he got beat up in God school.
Why is everything that's evil OK as long as it's in the name of God? Wars? Murder? Suicide? Why was stuff like that OK back in the bible days and not now? Now if someone kills somebody else "because God told them to" they're locked up and called crazy. What if God really wanted that person to die? Do you know if he did? No. You're a stupid human and interfering with the will of God, and you can bet the big man will send your ass to hell!
Remember the movie Stigmata? It's based in reality. It was about a document found (I'm pretty sure) near the Dead Sea. It was called something like "The Words of the Living Jesus." It was carbon dated to be the document closest to the time when Jesus was supposed to be alive. Why don't we believe in that?! It's more damn realistic that stuff written 300 years after! Know what it said? I'll give you the gist of the first bit. Churches are unnecessary because God is everywhere. A personal relationship with God is more important than a public one. Wonder why churches don't recognize that one. The entire document was radical like that.
Why is cloning morally wrong? Nobody's being hurt, nothing dies, it's just life. Kind of like having sex causes life sometimes when certain things break. Dammit.
If you have religious parents, you'll know what I'm talking about here. Have they ever came to you and for some reason tried to get you to come to church? When you politely decline (Laugh your ass off) they ask "Why not, it'll be good for you?" This is a trap. Anything you say after this point they will use against you. If you say "Mom, I've been to church a million times. I don't need to learn any more." She'll ask you some obscure question about what Jesus ate one time. If you say "I'm Jewish." You'll be bitched at. Do not do that. Unless you are Jewish, in which case... Ummm... Never mind. If you say "I've gone every other weekend with you. I understand the concept and the beliefs. I don't need a psycho guy in a stuffy building telling me the same thing every weekend." When faced with such a logical argument, you'd think they'd just leave you the hell alone, right? Nope. Now they yell. Logic only works on parents when you're agreeing with them.
In closing, don't think that I believe everything I say. I just like to make people think. Besides, why not question religion? Jesus did, so why can't I?

all religions are designed i think to have a loophole to avoid the difficult questions from none beleivers [the miracle of the world being one that uve already mensioned] and i think this is showing that they want people to follow blindly. imagine if you were the "pope" of a worldwide religion and what you say is literally gospel? what is the gospel? control. -The Matrix [kinda] anyway the reason religion has not taken over the world is because of science. science prooves that there is a logical explanation to the creation of the world, "miracle of a habitable world," a logical explanation for the miracle of birth includeing details all the way to DNA and genes - thats another thing - if god was so devine and could do anything why did he make DNA - surely it would be more simple just to make people instead of makeing them able to grow and variey. most companys, schools, and organiseations like to take away individualaty yet whoever god is created humans in varying shapes sizes and strenghts and even allowed them to inherit stuff from their parents. this - in my veiw is considerable evidence for science which religion cannot come back on without quoteing from the bible.
in short - religious people rely on heirache and lack of conflicting evidence to beleive in god - its the simple "when i say jump you awnser 'how high' " its just blinded faith which brainwashes people on a subconcious level |
