The Grinch peered down from his mountain, hating the Whos
because they never played games that he wouldn ' t lose
because they have a smile transfixed across their face
as though it were fixed, bolted and chained in place
The Grinch thought and thought on the way that they play
people say his heart shrank two sizes that day
the little creatures this holiday season
decorate the city beyond all reason
The Grinch deduced what the festoons proclaim bold
the Whos are to be happy, the Whos do as told
The Grinch stood in his snow covered Grinchy shoes
saw the loudspeakers below, belting out the rules |
