Description:
As series go, you always need to have a begining that sets up the rest of the story. The problem usually is, first episodes need to introduce you to the charcters in question and set up the rest of the plot, which can be kinda boring, but I did my best to get the neccisary stuff out of the way AND make it interesting. I decided to end the episode on a bit of a cliffhanger, just to make sure other people watch the next episode, as this one is a tad different to the other planned episodes (It being based in "reality" and all).

Once everythings all animated and stuff, it should be all good.

[The screen fades into a wavy scene very slowly. It's filled with light blue, but it should be too hard to make out anything. The music should be a downbeat sad tune. This is a great time to mention the names of people involved with this series (Have their names appear down in the corner ala metal gear). A slight noise should be heard while the scene continues to fade in, unintelligible but slowly becoming clearer and repeated more and more often.]

Strange Voice [The voice is female.]: "Wake Up"

[As the voice repeats itself more and more it now becomes obvious that we are looking at is the silhouette of a body floating in water. All suddenly goes quiet and a final loud "Wake up" is heard, at the same time the silhouette makes a sharp short movement accompanied by bubbles, to indicate that it has woken up. A sharp fade to black and the "Rift the animated series" logo is displayed (accompanied by fitting music)]

[The scene is now focused on some newspaper clippings pinned to the wall and a voice can be heard in the background talking to someone (we cannot hear the someone, as he is on the phone). The conversation continues, as the audience is able to take in what is on the newspaper clippings. All relate back to someone surviving a boat accident miraculously. Once the audience is given enough time to take it all in, the camera changes positions to give us a view of the person on the phone. He is pacing backwards and forwards and often hints at a little agitation.]

(Also note that all my characters are name either Jake or Joe)

Jake: "Yes, yes. Yes [Pause] I understand you're worried, but really it's no big deal â€" it could happen to anyone. [Pause] My job isn't that dangerous. [Pause] Listen; when someone gets into a car crash and starts driving again, it's no big thing, what's the difference here? [Pause] All right, all right, I get the picture â€" Listen if it makes you feel any better I have someone going out with me this time. [Pause] All right, I love you too. [Pause] Yes, Yes, Okay I really have to go now."

[Jake hangs up the phone and lets out a sigh. The scene changes to a view of Jake walking. From here we see that Jake lives close to the ocean. We get a few cinematic views of Jake walking until he happens upon the dock, with someone waiting for him there.]

Co-worker [Mocking]: "Well if it isn't "Mr. survivor" himself! And how was your harrowing two hour ordeal?"

Jake [Annoyed]: "Shut up"

Co-worker: "I didn't want to hurt your feelings" [Gives Jake a sly smile, Jake returns a look of contempt] "so where to today Gilligan?"

Jake [Sarcastically]: " Oh I don't know skipper, I thought I saw a great island we could go to."

Co-worker: [Laughs] " All jokes aside, we have a few people we need to pick up â€" a few tourists heading home, you know the usual."

Jake: "Well lets get going then."

[The scene changes to both Jake and the Co-worker on a speedboat. The only thing that can be seen is water. Jake is sitting down near the motor whilst his friend is steering.]

Co-worker: [Yelling over the engine, but cannot be heard well] " Hey we're just about to pass the place of your little adventure"

Jake: [Yelling back] "What?"

Co-worker: "I said â€"" [He reaches down to turn off the engine] "I said this should be about the place where you had your accident"

Jake: "Really?" [Looks out to the water]

Co-worker: "Hey do you want to go have a look down there? I'm curious to see what happened…"

Jake: ";Do we have the time?"

Co-worker: "Yeah, we're like two hours ahead of schedule. I heard that the wreckage is still down there â€" they haven't bothered to come pick it up. Either way, it kills some time."

[Jake appears to want to protest, but decides not to. The Co-worker starts to put on a wetsuit and air tank.]

Jake: " Well you can go down by yourself - I've already been down there long enough. Just don't take too long."

[Co-worker gives a salute (as he has already put the breathing device) and jumps in. Jake sighs and sits down. There is small waiting sequence (just to give the viewer an idea that some time has passed) after looking at his watch Jake finally gets up.]

Jake [To himself] "Where is that idiot. If he keeps this up we're going to be late…"

[Jake walks over to the edge where the Co-Worker jumped out and peers into the water. As the camera reveals what he is seeing, it becomes obvious something is wrong. Just below the surface a shimmering pinkish purple layer can be seen.]

Jake [Confused]: "What the hell?"

[Just as Jake expresses his confusion, the water explodes as a wall of the pinkish purple stuff towers into the sky. Jake is obviously startled by this. However curiosity appears to take the best of him and he reaches out towards it. The camera should be put into a position that reveals the wall is coming closer to his hand. He gasps, pulling his hand back and cradling it, obviously scared, he rushes over to the wheel of the boat, and tries to start the engine (as it struggles to come back to life). Just as the wall starts to hit the side of the boat it starts and he manages to turn the boat back towards where he came. What results is a chase sequence to get away from the wall. From here, the rest of the episode revolves around the chase. Some important points are: He hits land very hard, but picks himself up before the wall is able to hit him. As he runs through a city landscape, he calls out to people to run, most looking at him like he is crazy (as the cannot see what he does). The further the chase goes, the more he becomes encircled by the wall, until there is no-where else to go but up into a skyscraper. After running up the stairs to the top (with even the ground now being enveloped by the wall) The chase ends as he huddles up into a ball on a small box on the roof of this building, trying to hide from the wall that is about to crush him from all directions â€" To be continued is displayed on the screen, followed by the credits.]

(Breathless description, I know, but hey, it's a chase sequence, use your imagination)
