Description: I thought I might use this area to discuss ideas and themes I find interesting in this series. However at the moment I cannot really do that without spoiling anything. So... *cough*.
I would discuss the wall, but unfortunantly that would reveal too much. For now I think I'll just leave this as the I'm going to discuss things entry. The next entry here should prove to be more meaningful.
The episode itself IS actually a short episode on paper, but well, it will work out to be a fair bit longer. |
[The episode begins with a small cut out of the previous scenes of Jake cowering from "the wall" â€" just so the audience remembers what happened last time. The scene continues on with "The wall" getting painfully close to Jake (Jake of course cowering as best as he can) Just as the wall is about to touch Jake, it slowly fades away revealing for the first time, the scenery of Rift. Jake of course doesn't notice at first (giving the chance for a few cinematic camera angles) but finally looks up and out into the new world that surrounds him.]
Jake (confused/frightened) : What?.. Where am I?
[Jake is given the opportunity to walk around this new world. The world itself is set to a backdrop of many tiny stars. The biggest stand out feature is the large blue sun-ish looking thing. The scenery itself is very random. For the most part the ground is made up of an almost fleshy looking substance, but there are usually smatterings of "regular" scenery (such as trees and buildings) on some random areas.
Another notable feature is that all paths generally lead to a "Rift". A rift generally has a small spire of the flesh like substance below a large open view into what seems like another world that looks like it has shattered the air around it. Jake of course makes his way into the front of one.
The world inside this "Rift" contains a scenic view of a snowy looking mountain. After some obvious thought on Jakes part he takes a step into this world. As soon as he does the view of the world behind him shuts down upon him, trapping him inside. Confronted with this snowy forest on both sides, he has no choice to go on. Obviously cold, he eventually happens upon a small village. Smoke indicates that someone or something must be there. After wandering up to the town, Jake unsuccessfully searches for people out on the street.]
Jake (Calling) : Hello? Is anybody out there?
[Jake is given enough time to look around, until the creaking of a door is heard. Attracted by this noise, Jake walks over to investigate and carefully sticks his head into the cabin]
Jake (Slightly frightened) : He..llo? Is anybody in here?
[A figure behind Jake is seen, obviously unnoticed by him. Without warning the figure stabs Jake in the back and runs off, leaving Jake choking on the ground (This all happens very fast accompanied by suitable shock music). The scene ends with a pan out of Jakes bloody corpse] |

All I can say is: I can't wait to see more of it. The last scene is just the coolest way to make cliffhangers. |
