i would never leave my home, i live in the long and drawn out land of long and drawn out people. they need to be shook up, they need something to wake them up to the way the real world is. i have a link; a portal opened in my room to the new york. the city. it never slept. it glimmered, like gems glimmer. like nothing that i see on my side. i went there daily, and watched it. i knew what i was going to do. take the city. i was going to take the city, and bring it to the dusty eyes and parched mouths. something besides water could quench them, it could be the speed like a pamplet.

here is how i did it, in my own place, the one not past the portal. i had to think of the most cogent message, the surest phrase that conveyed what was different then them. different like the uselessness of yesterday's news. i wrote ten pages, i wrote twenty. i knew, that was the wrong direction. i wrote five. then, my mind filled with it. they met where i had asked, met where they had town meetings, and i recognised faces and expressions, expressions of confusion. i stood up and they, slowly, the way they knew, silenced. i said
