Fifth report of mine. You can find the previous ones, just have faith in your searching skills.

Also, there should be a groovy mood. I'm so Austin Powers today, though I tried to keep this serious.

Do I make you horny? Do I make you randy, baby, yeah, do I?

TONIGHT's NEWS REPORT
Brought to you by PHQ Personal Pages â„¢ and my Rational Critical Mojo

Good Evening, sceptic sadists of our particular comunity. I, LordAsriel, will be your informer for the next minutes. Since our last report we have experienced the uprising of version 4.5. There we go with the details.

TCs And CSs Balance
Well, it seems that through this almost eleven months or so since the new age started (the fourth age, now that I mention it) there were lots and lots of changes orientated to the improvement of the balance between the two player classes. The most important of them all since my last report, I think, are letting the Trap Engineer craft traps for CSs, so that they (we) can keep up with our trap chain more easily, and letting the CV catch victims. This way the dependance between TCs and CSs isn't so high as to lead to the kind of crisis we can easily remember.
It's my guess that now there are no serious issues that may favor one class or the other. Sure, it's always a curious point the astonishing distance that Khimitsu (TC) mantains with the others, but this may refer to previous advantages of her class (or to her genuine abilities for this kind of things, or to aliens, for all I know). Right now half the top ten is conformed by CSs and I'm glad to see the system leading favor to neither.

Da Common Enemy
Yes, the Common Enemy. It would attack us all after a week in which we would donate creatures, cv items and cv skilled weapons in order to build a defense. We got 92% defense on the first attack, then 97% on the second, and from then the following six attacks were one worse than the previous. We didn't know whether less people were donating or the enemy was getting stronger. At the low mark of 50% we all felt the hit. Destroyed traps, dead chosen victims, millions and millions of SD and planned experience to the trash bin.
Of course, a response was needed, and a response came. Defender Coupons, that can be exchanged by creatures, CV items or skill levels for CV weapons; and a rest period between attacks. Yes, it's been five days now without an attack or we having to worry about donating. Guess the word is truce.

Chosen Victim
Several changes, including the ability to catch victims, the ability to catch food, and the ability to eat other things rather than expensive cookies. Now, if you have enough money, you can garantee your CV's hunger will be kept down to the minimum. That thanks to the NPC shop Chawlee's Inn, which sells several types of food for the CV with unlimited stock. Also, the creatures stats have been radically changed so that they are appropiate for their level. No more slaying many and many creatures of your same level at the same time just because they were weaker. That you should have noticed the last time you tried to attack more than two creatures on your level (unless you have dedicated all your status points to STR, which could give you a chance).
Also, the Chosen Victim can find several items now that are neither food nor common artifacts or armor. They are weird items, you will recognize them because you can't feed them nor equipe them to your CV. Some NPCs on the Black Market can use them, though there's no list about which ones are used by who. By experience, however, I can tell you that for example nails may be used to improve the works of the Trap Engineer. Make sure you don't sell the garbage your CV finds inmediately, it may come handy.

Other News
-Draversi: an enjoyable PvP mini-game similar in almost all aspects to Reversi or Othello, with the addition of a bomb that can erase any figure on the board. That adds a lot of variability to the game.
-Customization: products. Basically you can choose a picture, name and description for your contracts / traps, although in the case of CSs it is also quite comfortable as it allows you to select a minimum duration for your contracts, automatically cancelling those below that value.
-Frozen PvP System: right, ye old attack system has been frozen while rumor is that a new one is under development and discussion in some secret offices no one is supposed to know about (and by that I mean there's a thread in the forum about it). In the meantime, if you feel agressive you always have Counter-Strike (yes, I so deserve to die).
-Trap Chain XP: It isn't random anymore (for almost three months already, but hey, it was after my last report). It depends strictly on the largest chain and, of course, the amount of traps placed, and it's because of that a fixed number.

Heh, guess that's it for now. If you notice anything is missing, you can write it down and send it to me. But having to edit this would make me angry, and when Dr. Evil gets angry Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset. And when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset, people DIE!

*cough* Anyway, I'll see you next time. Happy Halloween, by the way, if your culture does celebrate 31st October indeed.

Oh, behave.
