The next thrilling installment of "Adventure"

Once again the Text has been edited to protect the guilty.

Matt says:
LOAD SLOT 1!
Skillasaur says:
You are standing in an open topped room.
Skillasaur says:
There is a door to the north.
Matt says:
LOAD SLOT 2!
Skillasaur says:
You are kneeling in a dimly lit room.
Matt says:
load slot 3?
Skillasaur says:
No save game data available.
Matt says:
WHERES MY BROKEN LEG OME
Matt says:
ONE
Skillasaur says:
you haven't check surrounds duh
Skillasaur says:
I'm not going tell you everything unless u look.
Matt says:
check ma leg
Skillasaur says:
You leg is in rather bad shape. It seems dislocated and has glass shards protruding from it
Matt says:
take glass out carefully
Skillasaur says:
you try to remove the glass and manage to take out many of the larger pieces but some of the smaller pieces would cut your hands if you attempted to remove them
Matt says:
use paper clip of paper grenade to form makeshift tweezers
Skillasaur says:
you dismantle the paper-clip grenade into it's component parts and fashion a small pair of tweezers
Matt says:
take out small glass
Matt says:
with tweezers
Skillasaur says:
you remove the last fragments of glass from your leg
Matt says:
OK erm, is my leg tied with the cloth?
Skillasaur says:
the cloth is tied above the wound as a tourniquet.
Matt says:
examine the corpse
Skillasaur says:
the corpse is floating face up in the now bloodied water. it is the body of a white, largely built man wearing a vest much similar to your own
Matt says:
check durability of my vest versus his vest
Matt says:
(mine got hit)
Skillasaur says:
his vest is in much worse condition. There is no visible sign of violence in the surroundings but his vest is covered in holes and slash marks
Matt says:
o.o
Matt says:
examine his pockets
Skillasaur says:
in his pockets you find a spanner and some chocolate
Matt says:
take all
Skillasaur says:
taken
Matt says:
he got any other pockets?
Skillasaur says:
not that you can see.
Matt says:
Pat around body for hiddens
Skillasaur says:
you feel up the body for a while but fail to find anything of interest.
Matt says:
examine surroundings
Skillasaur says:
You are kneeling in a slightly flooded room with books floating around you. there is a corpse here. there is a bookshelf to your east and a door to your south.
Matt says:
grab books and read titles
Skillasaur says:
You grab some of the nearest books floating in the water. The first one to catch your eye is "Medieval maladies" but the writing inside has been soaked by the water.
Matt says:
grab another
Skillasaur says:
the second book you grab on the tide is headed "Indian medative healing techniques" but it too is blank.
Matt says:
Any more to grab?
Skillasaur says:
a few but it is likely that they will be damaged in the same way... perhaps the bookcase would yield better results
Matt says:
I WAS ABOUT TO GO THERE TYVM
Matt says:
examine bookcase
Skillasaur says:
the bookcase seems to have been full to bursting at one point but now only the top shelf survives. On the top shelf there are three books: "Trench medicine V1" "Future medicine" and "The exit"
Matt says:
skim Trench Medicine V1 for interest
Skillasaur says:
you pick up "Trench Medicine V1" and notice it has a bookmark. Turning to the bookmark a passage takes your eye.
Skillasaur says:
Although tourniquets and other trench medicinal techniques were in wide use throughout the war they are purely a temporary measure. Tourniquets in particular cut off the blood to the effected area - slowing death from loss of blood but if prolonged can lead to the death of the effected area.
Matt says:
skim future medicine!
Skillasaur says:
"Future Medicine" at first appears to be a large book but on closer inspection it is more of a hard-backed brochure
Skillasaur says:
again a passage meets your eye
Skillasaur says:
Slasher Inc. has recently announced the creation of the elusive "Life Cell" - a room no more than a mans height and width capable of healing almost any medical problem. The cell works by...
Skillasaur says:
You loose interest.
Matt says:
Read The Exit
Skillasaur says:
You open the book entitled "The Exit" tentatively but find that it's pages have all been cut into, leaving a secret compartment containing a large key.
Matt says:
take the key!
Skillasaur says:
taken
Matt says:
examine room again
Skillasaur says:
You notice that the shallow water filling the room is now tinted a sickly red. You are kneeling in a partially flooded room. There is a corpse here. There is a bookcase to your east and a door to the south.
Matt says:
swim to door
Skillasaur says:
you wade towards the door, your progress now unimpeded
Skillasaur says:
you arrive at the door.
Matt says:
define unimpeded
Skillasaur says:
The narrator kicks himself and replys "Less impeded - as in your still having to kneel and use a strange stoop to move"
Skillasaur says:
but it doesn't hurt as much
Matt says:
open door
Skillasaur says:
you open the southern door
Matt says:
go south
Skillasaur says:
you arrive back in the partially flooded room with a shaft above you. you notice with alarm the water level is substantially higher now
Matt says:
examine shaft
Skillasaur says:
the shaft reaches an almost immeasurable distance upwards. from here you can hear music filtering through from above. there are still 4 knives embedded in the wall 30 and 100 meters above you
Matt says:
save slot 2
Skillasaur says:
saved
Matt says:
wait for water level to reach 30 meters up the wall
Skillasaur says:
are you sure y/n?
Matt says:
y
Skillasaur says:
You wait for a substantial amount of time as the grating lets in a steady stream of water
Skillasaur says:
The room steadily fills around you as you wait.
Skillasaur says:
eventually the water reaches neck height and you hear a sharp crackle
Skillasaur says:
the water has reached the level of the light situated on the wall
Matt says:
nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Skillasaur says:
the light quickly short circuits and electrifies the water, instantly frying you in it.
Skillasaur says:
Game Over.
Score: 5/12.
Matt says:
5/12?
Matt says:
I've missed out on 7 points!?
Skillasaur says:
pretty much
Matt says:
I did kinda struggle through the last bits
Skillasaur says:
it's possible I might've added more bonus points as well
Matt says:
load game 2
Skillasaur says:
loaded. You are standing in a partially flooded room
Matt says:
examine source of water output
Skillasaur says:
The source of the water is a grating on the west wall. It is roughly circular and is about the size of your thigh to head.
Skillasaur says:
The slow trickle of water is almost therapeutic to the pain in your leg.
Skillasaur says:
You notice your leg is largely numb now.
Skillasaur says:
Your leg has stopped bleeding.
Matt says:
I healed my leg with the water?
Skillasaur says:
no it's still hurt
Matt says:
can I swim in this hole
Skillasaur says:
The hole is barred by the grating
Matt says:
check grating for lock
Skillasaur says:
the grating has metal bars which are attached to the wall.
Matt says:
check inventory
Skillasaur says:
in your inventory right now: miscellaneous office supplies, M79, knife, vest, spanner, chocolate, key.
Matt says:
can the spanner undo bars?
Skillasaur says:
it looks like the bars are screwed on and kept in place with iron nuts.
Skillasaur says:
it looks screwable.
Matt says:
unscrew the nuts
Skillasaur says:
you unscrew each of the nuts in turn
Skillasaur says:
the task takes about 10 minutes
Matt says:
swim in!
Skillasaur says:
You crawl into the pipe, careful not to hurt your leg. It's a tight fit but you can shimmy yourself along.
Matt says:
follow pipe along
Skillasaur says:
you follow the pipe along. after a while it gets too dark to see clearly.
Matt says:
torch!
Skillasaur says:
you use your torch to light your path. You see water trailing beneath you in a steady stream. You have a feeling you've forgotten something. Do you want to continue?
Matt says:
no! go back!
Skillasaur says:
you return back out of the pipe into the partially flooded room
Matt says:
examine room
Skillasaur says:
You are in a partially flooded room. The water is a pale red. There is a shaft above you, a door to the north, a light to your east and a hole to your west.
Matt says:
go north
Skillasaur says:
you enter the north room
Matt says:
then examine
Skillasaur says:
Nothing has changed since you last visited. The corpse, bookcase and books are right where you left them
Matt says:
>hint> what did I forget
Skillasaur says:
There are points where you may feel that distance is providing you with safety, however - some threats can travel much faster than you through certain substances... it may be best to remove the threat from the source.
Matt says:
I knew it, I just ****en didn't bother examining it
Matt says:
go south
Matt says:
examine light
Skillasaur says:
the light fixture is attached at about head height to the walls. It is attached my small screws, protruding slightly from the wall.
Skillasaur says:
There is no visible light switch
Matt says:
unscrew it
Skillasaur says:
you unscrew the light, letting the transparent cover fall to the ground. the light is now just a fluorescent tube attached to the wall.
Matt says:
now how do I do this
Matt says:
cos if I break it
Matt says:
it'll still be active when the water touches it
Skillasaur says:
You examine the tube for any weakness but it seems solid. so long as you don't let any electronically active parts touch the water you should be OK.
Matt says:
remove the tube carefully
Matt says:
wait
Matt says:
undo
Matt says:
undo!
Skillasaur says:
undone.
Matt says:
screw the plastic cover back on, but this time, as tight as it will go
Skillasaur says:
in order to attach the plastic cover you would need to reattach it to the wall as the screws are embedded into the wall and the tube just lies on top of them
Matt says:
in lamens terms?
Skillasaur says:
basically the cover cannot cover the tube completely as it is not airtight and you cannot cover the tube and still have access to the inner workings of the fixture.
Matt says:
damn
Matt says:
unscrew it all, remove tube
Skillasaur says:
you remove the tube from the wall carefully. as you pull you hear a short snapping noise and the light goes out. lowering the light you see an electrical cable sparking from a hole in the wall.
Matt says:
keep the tube for fun
Matt says:
check inventory
Skillasaur says:
taken
Skillasaur says:

in your inventory right now: miscellaneous office supplies, M79, knife, vest, spanner, chocolate, key, tube

Matt says:
uhh can the plastic cover be made airtight now the tube is gone?
Skillasaur says:
the plastic cover is vacuum formed and thus doesn't change easily. it would be next to impossible to form a water tight cover for the wire.
Matt says:
does chocolate make a water tight cover
Skillasaur says:
you think of the possibility of covering the wire with chocolate to insulate it from the water, however your childhood experiments with both hot objects and chocolate and water and chocolate lead you to believe that it might be bad idea.
Matt says:
do Slasher Inc. vests make water proof wires?
Skillasaur says:
No. Besides you've grown attached to your vest.
Matt says:
Can I.... put the wire in the tube so it's like... then use a plastic sheet used to hold paper (office supplies) to fold over the open end of tube
Skillasaur says:
you believe that whatever snapped when you removed the tube probably means that replacing the tube would not provide the best results. The plastic could cover the tube but there's no way of knowing whether it is waterproof. Over time the paper is likely to become saturated with water and become conductive.
Skillasaur says:
So... no.
Matt says:
erm
Matt says:
can I strip the wire slightly, make the end touch itself causing it to short circuit and blow the fuse
Skillasaur says:
Ingenious idea but you fear that touching the end of the wire may cause harmful injury to your person.
Matt says:
I will manipulate the corpse and make him do it
Skillasaur says:
as inspired as getting someone else to do the dangerous work is, you doubt you could move the corpses hands without touching his probably still conductive skin. even if this wasn't the case you see no way to prop the corpse up so it is out of the water as it works.
Matt says:
use the tube and the spanner to create the additional u-turn to make the wire touch itself
Skillasaur says:
the tube is fairly useless as it is in this situation. The spanner is made of metal and could cause problems.
Matt says:
fill the plastic cover with water
Matt says:
hold it
Matt says:
dip the wire in it, water conducts
Matt says:
it'll short circuit
Skillasaur says:
You fill the plastic cover with water and hold it up to the wire, hoping to short-circuit whatever controls the light. continue y/n?
Matt says:
quick save 3
Matt says:
y
Skillasaur says:
saved.
Skillasaur says:
You hold the cover up and dip the wire slowly into the water. Suddenly you hear a deep crackle and a blinding light hits your eyes. You drop the plastic tube in your disorientation and fall backwards into the water.
Skillasaur says:
As you recover you glance up towards the wire and note that it is no longer sparking.
Matt says:
go through pipe!
Matt says:
or wait
Skillasaur says:
you exit through the pipe.
Matt says:
do I let the water rise!
Skillasaur says:
you wait.
Skillasaur says:
do you let the water rise?
Matt says:
i can get my knives back
Matt says:
and find the music...
Matt says:
SAVE SLOT 4
Skillasaur says:
It is unknown whether you can get your knives back.
It is unknown whether this course of action will lead to the source of the music.
Saved
Matt says:
the knives were stuck in the wall pretty far...
Matt says:
carry on in pipe
Skillasaur says:
You continue in the pipe. as you move forward you note that it is getting increasingly dark. You hear a nearby noise.
Matt says:
torch on
Skillasaur says:
torch is now on. You can now see your way. As you turn on the torch it's light falls on a big brown rat inches from your face.

Big Brown Rat Lunges at you with Bitey teeth.
Matt says:
oh not this crappy battle ****
Skillasaur says:
you recognise it
Matt says:
smack it with the handle of the M79
Skillasaur says:
you use M79 handle on Big Brown Rat
You break it's teeth. It runs away.
Matt says:
CONTINUE
Skillasaur says:
you continue in the pipe for a while. You note the water is now rising within the pipe.
Matt says:
go faster
Skillasaur says:
lol OK
Skillasaur says:
you speed up and as the water is reaching leg height you come to a dead end. Water is trickling down from a grating situated about 5 meters above you.
Matt says:
wait for the narrator
Skillasaur says:
The water is now waist level and rising rapidly
Matt says:
NO YOU FAGGOT UNDO
Matt says:
it was a joke >*
Matt says:
undo it before it rised!
Skillasaur says:
OK
Skillasaur says:
you speed up and as the water is reaching leg height you come to a dead end. Water is trickling down from a grating situated about 5 meters above you.
Matt says:
open the grate!
Skillasaur says:
The grate is too high above you.
Matt says:
uuuhh crappp
Matt says:
risk it and wait till I can reach it due to water rising
Skillasaur says:
Are you sure? y/n?
Matt says:
quick save 3
Matt says:
y
Skillasaur says:
You decide that waiting for the water level to rise would be most beneficial to getting out of the pipe. The water rapidly ascends the pipe as the pipe fills with water. It reaches waist, chest and then neck level before covering your head. As you try to swim upwards you notice that something keeps dragging you down. With horror you realize that not only the current is against you as water is travelling down the pipe but also that your leg is a dead weight as it is numb to all impulses. You try desperately to reach the surface but cannot provide enough momentum with your broken leg and tired arms and quickly find yourself tiring All too soon you dip below the water for the final time, your soaked cloths, injured leg and tired arms all contributing to your final demise.
Skillasaur says:
as the water fills your lungs you can't help but wonder if there was something you were missing and that all this might've been averted had you examined your surroundings.
Skillasaur says:
Game Over.
Skillasaur says:
your score 5/10.
Matt says:
YOU NEVER SAID I COULD EXAMINE SURROUNDINGS
Matt says:
quick load 3
Skillasaur says:
loaded.
you come to a dead end. Water is trickling down from a grating situated about 5 meters above you.

Matt says:
EXAMINE SURROUNDINGS
Skillasaur says:
The walls of the pipe are ribbed and slippery because of the water but on closer examination there are small screws protruding from the side of the pipe at roughly 1 foot intervals.
Matt says:
carefully undo they all
Skillasaur says:
the screws are attached to the pipe. you see no way to unscrew the screws themselves.
Matt says:
carefully climb the ridges to undo one at top
Skillasaur says:
the pipe is too slippery to climb. the screws on their own to not provide enough space to climb, especially with your leg as it is
Matt says:
save slot like 5
Skillasaur says:
saved

Just wondering... Is there any more of this? I'm sure I've read it three, maybe four times since it was submitted. ^^

Unfortunately no... My friend got a bit annoyed after last time and never wanted to play again :P. I personally wouldn'tve minded continueing but I think my obscure style put him off.
