no gods decide our fates, but since every even most minor event is a consequence of another event/s , everything that happens and will happen is already decided. Looking widely, the setup for the whole future was made at the beginning of this world, universe, or whatever this piece of crap is that we live in. If people knew all the initial events and parameters, they would calculate and thus predict everything.

Kind of fate exists, but we can't find it out anyway.
